Pinwheel And Sherman Williams at Decatur Boxing Club

This past Monday Decatur Boxing Club served as the primary location for a video shoot for Sherman Williams paint company produced by the Atlanta based production company Pinwheel. The video production featured DBC's own "slippery" Fred Tukes as the main character, with DBC fighters Carlos Monroe and Carrie Vogler, yours truly, and our assistant trainer Jason Abraham as extras for the film. Here are a few of the pics from our 10 hour day!

They had some pretty cool camera equipment.

Patty "boom boom" Alcivar On The Sunday Sizzler On Talk'n Boxing!

This Sunday Decatur Boxing Club's own Patty "boom boom" Alcivar was featured as a special guest on the Sunday Sizzler addition of the Rock'n Talk'n Boxing Show on Blogtalk Radio! She was featured as a guest along with Randal "KO King" Baily. Patty talks about her b-line to a world championship and her new professional boxing career! To check out the radio show click here.

Talk'n Boxing is hosted by Johnny "Jsizzle" Shultz and "New York" Dan and airs Sunday mornings. Next week's show hosts Paulie Malignaggi on his upcoming rematch with Juan Diaz.

Decatur Boxing Club's Terri 'the boss" Moss In 2010 Guinness Book Of The Decade!

The latest printed version of the Guinness World Records book (for the year 2010) titled "The Book Of The Decade" is in bookstores now! Look for Decatur Boxing Club's own female WIBF Strawweight World Champion Terri Moss in this version! Terri won her titles at 41 1/2 years old becoming the oldest female world champion in history. While many have fought beyond her age, none have won. Terri is honored to be in the printed version, as many record holders do not make the cut for the book.

Other professional prize fighters in this edition are Joe Calzaghe, Julio Cesar Chavez and more. The Guinness World Records 2010 Edition can be purchased at most bookstores.

Decatur Boxing Club Weekend Results!

This weekend at the Paul Murphy National Classic DBC fighter Carlos "kitten" Monroe won the national title in his weight class. Our Krichele Featherston and Carrie Vogler weighed in and hoped for a match but didn't get one. For Kris its another trophy for a shelf full of them that she didn't get to fight for when she and Carrie were awarded trophies for uncontested championships. That's ok though, we'll try for a club fight happening in two weeks for them. DBC sends congratulations to Carlos for his second round stopage!

Decatur Boxing Club Fighters Boxing This Weekend!

This weekend DBC amateur boxers Krichele Featherston, Carrie Vogler, "kitten" Carlos Monroe (above) and others will both boxing at the Paul Murphy National Classic sponsored by Title Boxing! his will be Kris' 5th fight and Carrie's amateur debut, and an attempt at yet another championship for our multi-champion Carlos Monroe. Look for Carlos as he shines like a star (he always does) at this tournament. Stay tuned for all the great pics and details of their fights!

Tickets for the show are only $10. The boxing will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday Nov. 7th and the championships will be Sunday Nov. 8th. The winners will be receiving belts for winning the tournament.
